This privacy policy describes how VIS collects and uses personal data.
Personal integrity is important, and we take your right to privacy seriously. We want to be open about how we process your personal data, and have therefore updated our privacy policy. The aim is to make it even clearer for you what we process of personal data about you, why we do it, where the data comes from, who is involved in the processing of your data, why we are allowed to process your data in this way and what rights you have.
The security officer in VIS is responsible for ensuring that the privacy policy is updated at all times, also on the websites. VIS, through the managing director, is responsible for processing the company's personal data. Where the day-to-day responsibility is delegated, this is stated under each individual item. Such delegations only cover the tasks, and not the responsibilities. The declaration contains information you are entitled to when information is collected from our website (Personal Data Act § 19) and general information about how we process personal data (Personal Data Act § 18 subsection 1)
Processing of personal data at www.visinnovasjon.no
The web editor has the day-to-day responsibility for VIS processing of personal data on our website www.visinnovasjon.no, unless otherwise stated below. It is voluntary for those who visit the website to provide personal information, and this is only done in connection with services such as receiving newsletters. The basis for processing is consent from the individual, unless otherwise specified. Mediebruket is VIS data processor, and is our total supplier for development, operation and maintenance of the website. Information collected in connection with the operation of the website is stored on separate servers operated by the supplier. Only VIS and data processors (with subcontractors) have access to the information collected. A separate data processing agreement between VIS and the supplier Mediebruket regulates which information they have access to and how it is to be processed.
What data is collected?
Information cookies Information cookies (cookies) are small text files that are placed on your computer when you download a website. Storage of information and processing of this information is not permitted unless the user has both been informed about and has given his consent to the processing. The user must be informed about and approve which information is processed, what the purpose of the processing is and who processes the information, cf. ekomloven § 2-7b. We use the analysis tool Google Analytics on our websites, these place 3 cookies on your machine. These begin gtag.js, analytics.js, and ga.js. Facebook Conversation Tracking Pixel
A Facebook Pixel anonymously tracks who has visited the website and which pages they have visited. This tracking is used to be able to offer relevant marketing in Facebook's channels. The capsule lasts for 180 days, and no personally identifying information is collected or tracked. Users can themselves control the advertising that appears on Facebook by adjusting their personal settings on Facebook. Search
VIS stores information about which search terms users use in the search fields on the website. The purpose of the storage is to make our information offer better. The usage pattern for searches is stored in a separate database, and they are only stored in aggregated form. Only the search term is stored, and they cannot be linked to other information about the users, such as the IP addresses.
Newsletter and contact form
On the website, you can choose to subscribe to newsletters from VIS. In order for us to be able to send you newsletters, you must at least register your name and an e-mail address. The information is stored in a separate database, is not shared with others and is deleted when you cancel the subscription. After registration, you can also choose to provide additional information so that we can send you more relevant information. This includes, among other things, workplace and interests. If you fill in the form "Contact form" at www.visinnovasjon.no, we collect your name, e-mail address, telephone number and a message from you. We need it to be able to send your inquiry to the right person with us, as well as to be able to get in touch with you. The information you provide will be stored as long as it is relevant. If you fill in the form "Submit your idea" at www.visinnovasjon.no, we collect the name of the inventor, employer, name of the contact person, e-mail address, title, the role of the contact person have (student, researcher or other), as well as the name of the place of study/employer. In addition, we collect the description of the idea, and any other information that you wish to share with us. The information you provide is used to better evaluate the idea, as well as to route your inquiry to the right business developer with us. The information is stored as long as it is relevant. If you fill in the form "Become a member/Apply for a place with us", we collect your e-mail address, first and last name, as well as your description of your company/business idea, and any other information that you want to share with us. The information you provide is used to be able to better assess the idea, as well as to be able to route your inquiry to the right business developer with us and to be able to get in touch with you. Information in applications to the Fintech Room is shared with administrative staff in NCE Finance Innovation. Information in applications to the Media Cube is shared with administrative staff in NCE Media. The information you provide will be stored as long as it is relevant.
Registration for courses
On the website, you can register for a course by providing your name, contact information and employer. In addition, we ask you to provide information about any allergies and the need for accommodation. Personal information we receive when registering for a course is not used for purposes other than administering the course. Unless you have given explicit consent to something else, your personal data will be deleted after the purpose ceases.
What is the information used for?
The collected information will not be used later for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes stated below, unless you have consented to it.
Carry out the agreement
Your personal data is processed in order to be able to provide requested services (for example sending out newsletters and invitations to events), to improve and further develop associated services, including adapting the services to the users' assumed wishes, and to inform you of new possibilities of use.
Improve the user experience
The collected information is used to monitor whether users with a certain browser/device have problems loading the website, certain pages, certain services, as well as adapting the format to the browser/device used, so that we can improve our services. The information processed for this purpose is used aggregated and anonymised.
Marketing and recommendations
We also process personal data for such purposes as offering you the opportunity to receive notifications about VIS products and services, including sending newsletters, and invitations to participate in surveys or events, if you have chosen in advance to receive such information. We may also use your personal data for other business-related purposes.
Understand market trends
The personal information collected is analyzed to understand market trends as well as to try to predict future behaviour. The purpose of this is i.a. to compile statistics that we use to improve and further develop our websites and improve our services. Such analyzes can be done by VIS itself, or by VIS extracting information that another company analysed. If personal information is disclosed to other companies for such analysis purposes, this will be regulated by separate data processing agreements with requirements for confidentiality, and that the information is not used for other purposes and is deleted after use, etc.
Limit abuse of the service
We use information related to the users' activities and technical data to limit various forms of misuse of the service. Abuse includes, among other things, attempted fraud, spam, attempts to log into other people's user accounts, incitement and harassment, and other actions prohibited by Norwegian law.
Measures to secure your personal data
Is it voluntary to provide personal data?
It is always voluntary for those who visit the website to provide personal information. You can at any time limit the amount and type of personal data VIS registers about you by failing to enter this in forms or data fields on our website. We point out that this may mean that some of our online services do not work, do not work optimally, or that your user experience is affected. Regarding the possibility of not accepting the use of cookies on the aforementioned websites, see the section “2. cookies”.
Who has access to my personal data?
Those who can gain access to your personal data are a limited number of VIS employees, and third parties that VIS has commissioned to perform services (such as our suppliers).
Sharing information with third parties
Information about you and your use of the service may be disclosed to other companies, including our partners for the execution of events and other affiliated companies for use for the same purpose for which they were collected. As far as possible, the information will be provided in anonymized form, but for certain purposes it may be necessary for the recipient to receive information that makes it possible to identify you. If you have requested a service that is carried out together with another company (for example participation in a joint event) that may need access to your personal data, we will ask for your consent. We require that our partners treat your personal data confidentially and only use the information to perform services for VIS's account. If there is a suspicion that an offense has been committed in connection with the use of VIS services, the information can be disclosed to public authorities upon request. We will also be able to hand out information to others if it is necessary to prevent fraud. We can also give a data processor who processes personal data on behalf of VIS access to your personal data. Our data processors are subject to a duty of confidentiality, and cannot use the information other than in the performance of the service for us.
Combining personal data with third party data
VIS cannot combine personal information you have provided directly to us with information obtained from third parties.
Protection of personal data
We have established routines and measures at various levels to ensure that unauthorized persons do not gain access to your personal data, prevent personal data from being lost by mistake, destroyed or damaged and that all processing of the data takes place in line with applicable law. The measures include, among other things, regular risk assessments, technical systems and physical procedures to safeguard information security and routines to verify access and correction requests.
Your rights
Right to access
Anyone who requests it has the right to receive basic information about the processing of personal data in a business pursuant to Section 18, subsection 1 of the Personal Data Act. VIS has provided this information in this privacy policy, and will refer to it in the event of any enquiries. Anyone registered in VIS data systems has the right to access their own information.
Demand for correction or deletion of incomplete or incorrect information
According to Section 27 of the Personal Data Act, the data subject has the right to request that incorrect, incomplete or information VIS is not authorized to process be corrected, deleted or supplemented. Claims from the registered must be answered free of charge and within 30 days at the latest.
Deletion of personal data
Personal data will not be stored longer than is necessary to fulfill the purpose of the processing, unless it is required by law that they be stored longer. You can at any time ask us to delete information relating to you as a user, unless the information is necessary to be able to deliver a service you still want to have access to (for example a subscription to a newsletter), or it is required by law to keep the information . You can withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data at any time.
